Bedfax.org is a service provided by the Specialty Sleep Association (SSA) in response to demand from consumers for information and education about what is inside mattresses. The manufacturers supporting this contents label transparency program are primarily members of SSA and committed to our mission and vision for the mattress industry. With consumer support, we hope to see this program grow in manufacturer participation based on its relevance to mattress consumers. The Bedfax Program has been modified to include the mattress manufacturer's environmental certification compliance, a component of increasing importance to consumers, and the one on which the SSA’s Environmental & Safety Program™ was based. The Bedfax Program is designed to verify these sorts of claims as well as general contents claims for a participating mattress model.
